A Hero's Journey is a horn sextet starts with an energetic openning which moves into a slower more contimplative section. The ensemble begins to pick up speed until the end with satisfying chorale style close. The charcterization of the work plays on the ideas of a hero setting off on a journey, finding hardship, overcoming struggles, and concluding their journey in an unforseen way.
